Ebstein's anomaly (sometimes referred to as Ebstein anomaly) is a congenital heart disease in which the tricuspid valve and the right ventricle do not develop normally. As a result, the valve does not function as it should to keep blood flowing in the right direction, allowing it to leak back from the lower to the upper chambers on the right side of the heart.   Symptoms of Ebstein's anomaly depend on the severity of the abnormality and so can range from virtually no symptoms at all to low blood oxygen levels, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), and, weakness. In extreme cases, the condition can be fatal. Imaging tests of the heart are used to diagnose and assess the extent of Ebstein's anomaly.
