Health Brief: Baptist Golden Triangle announces three new department directors - The Commercial Dispatch

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle Administrator Paul Cade has announced new directors for the Women's Services, Radiology and Case Management departments.

Bradley Rhodes, MSN, RNC-OB, has been named to replace Susan Spencer, retiring director of Women's Services. Radiology Manager Brad Mize, ARRT (R) (CT), has replaced Director Benjie Lane who has taken a position with Baptist Medical Group in Oxford. Ashley Perry, RN, has been named director of Case Management. She replaces Lindsey Stillman who has taken a position at Columbus Orthopedic Clinic in Columbus.

Originally, from Starkville, Rhodes is a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center school of nursing where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing in 2014 and her master's degree in nursing and healthcare administration in 2019. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and as Labor and Delivery Unit Education Coordinator. She has been nurse manager of Women's Services at Baptist Golden Triangle since 2017. She is credentialed in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing.

Rhodes said she was privileged to see her team from a different perspective when she and her husband welcomed their daughter Arley at Baptist Golden Triangle in February 2021.

"I can wholeheartedly attest that the care provided in Women's Services at Baptist Golden Triangle is superior. I cannot describe how proud I am to continue working alongside this team as the director of Women's Services," Rhodes said.

Originally from Okolona, Mize received an associate's degree in medical science from Itawamba Community College. He previously worked at Baptist North Mississippi in Oxford before transferring to Columbus in 2005. He has worked in many different areas of radiology including emergency room; outpatient, inpatient, computed tomography (CT), MRI, and x-ray on both day and night shift.

Mize currently lives in Columbus with his wife Alice and their two sons, Luke, 8, and Beau, 2.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve the community in my new role. We have the best staff and leadership at Baptist Golden Triangle," Mize said. "We strive to provide the best care with empathy and compassion during our patients' time of need," he added.

Originally from Rienzi, Perry currently lives in Starkville. She received her associate's degree in nursing from Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, New York, and her bachelor's degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women. She also holds a master's degree in nursing from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama.

She has worked at Baptist Golden Triangle for 11 years, including as a case manager from 2010 -2016 and as a staff development specialist in the Education Department for the past five years.

"I love being part of the Baptist family where you are surrounded by great teammates and a leadership team that provides the tools and support we need to be successful," Perry said.

"The Case Management department consists of Utilization Review and Discharge Planning who work together to ensure that our patients have a safe and successful transition from hospital to home. Case Management is where I started my career at Baptist, and I am excited to re-join this great team," she added.

Administrator Paul Cade said he is proud that the open director positions could be filled from internal candidates. "Being able to promote extremely qualified personnel from within our hospital to fill these important department director positions shows the depth of talent and expertise we have in our 1,100 employees," he said. "I am proud of each one of these new department directors and am confident that they will continue to uphold the high standard of patient care and safety already in place," Cade added.
