Wilmington Health adds specialist to Pelvic Floor and Continence Center - StarNewsOnline.com

Catherine Duncan, PT, a specialist in pelvic floor physical therapy has joined Wilmington Health. Duncan will work in tandem with the Pelvic Floor and Continence Center's urogynecology team to support the treatment of pelvic pain, weakness and dysfunction in pelvic muscles.

Duncan is a graduate of East Carolina University with a doctorate in physical therapy and currently attends a women's health apprenticeship program. She has also participated in specialty training programs through the Herman and Wallace Institute and the Annual Birth Healing Summit on postpartum corrective exercise, myofascial release, yoga for women and muscle energy techniques.

The Pelvic Floor and Continence Center, part of the Wilmington Health Women's Center of Excellence, offers treatment options for women suffering from pelvic disorders related to both genetics and childbirth that cause the muscles of the pelvic floor to weaken or stretch. Treatments include pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, and pelvic floor therapy.
